Public Biography

Senator Marion Aldridge is a Democratic United States senator from Oregon, serving since 2021. She is a co-sponsor of the National Dissolution and Bilateral Sovereignty Act and has described the legislation as the product of years of private conversations among colleagues who “lacked a procedural vehicle” for their frustrations.

Ms. Aldridge was born in Eugene, Oregon, and attended the University of Oregon, where she studied environmental policy. She served on the Portland City Council and in the Oregon State Legislature before her election to the Senate. She sits on the Committee on Environment and Public Works and the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.

She has described bipartisan agreement as “the most reliable indicator that something has gone profoundly wrong, but also the only mechanism by which anything gets done.”
