Public Biography
Ramon Delgado is a martial arts instructor and longtime training partner of the late Chuck Norris, based in Bryan, Texas. He operated the Delgado Combat Athletics gym for twenty-three years before transitioning to private instruction in 2018, citing a clientele that had “aged out of wanting to be hit.”
Mr. Delgado trained under Mr. Norris in the 1990s and maintained a weekly sparring schedule with him until 2024, when Mr. Norris informed him that their sessions had become “more of a social call than a workout” — a characterization Mr. Delgado did not dispute but found hurtful nonetheless.
He holds a sixth-degree black belt in Tang Soo Do and a fourth-degree black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. He describes his teaching philosophy as “pain-based learning,” a phrase he uses without irony.
